We put our members well-being, our influence on the wider community and the health of the planet at the heart of everything we do. From cultivating biophilic spaces that help people connect with nature, to our range of community and charity partnerships and our renewable approach to construction. And we’re just as keen to see our Members getting involved too.
Throughout construction we paid particular attention to our material choice and supply location. We took a minimalist approach to the repurposing of our Grade II listed heritage building and chose natural, reclaimed or recycled materials where possible.
We are switching to 100% renewable energy but we know that’s just the start. We’ve selected energy efficient appliances, put in motion sensors, optimise the use of natural light and ventilation, and have installed LED lighting to minimise our energy usage.
We have a zero-waste to landfill policy which means that all of our general waste is sent to a waste-to-energy facility and the energy output is about 50% renewable. We’ve custom-built mixed recycling bins and food waste collection in the kitchen will help us reach our 50% recycling target.
204 air purifying plants
Throughout the building we’ve installed 204 air purifying plants, which not only suck carbon from the atmosphere but also support our belief in biophilic design, and help to connect our members with the natural world around them.
What our members say:
"A totally unique workspace - very bright and welcoming but still offers a level of privacy/quiet to get work done. The Hanging Garden is beautiful and a great place to take a short work-break. I just love the feeling of being totally emerged in the space amongst the greenery and it helps me to really engage my creative thinking."
Give and get back
We want to support our members to do their own charity work too. So if they're helping out, we will help out too. For every day they spend with a charity of their choice, we’ll give back that day in credit to our members accounts.
At Missionworks we’re here to help the dreamers and late night thinkers. We’re inspired by the work of our members and love to see them flourish. That’s why we created a dedicated Missionworks entrepreneur programme to help give those back of envelope ideas the little encouragement they need to come to life. So if you’re a Hammersmith local and looking to kickstart that idea, or take your fledgling one man band to the next step we’re here to help.
What it entails
Successful applicants will be provided with complimentary access to all Missionworks facilities and benefits over a period of 3 months. In addition, business mentoring, goal setting and growth planning support will be provided, plus event invites.
Who its for
The programme is designed to support single entrepreneurs or freelancers in early stage concept or product development. We're also keen to support local, so applicants need to be from Hammersmith or immediately surrounding postcodes.
How and when to apply
We're still working on the finer details of the programme, but if you interested in applying, just send us a note, and we'll add you to our mailing list, to make sure you are first in the know once the programme is open for applications.
