The long afternoon at the kitchen table
Working from home is lovely in June. In November it can shrink to a laptop, a radiator and whatever is left in the fridge. By four o'clock the room is dark, the lamp is on, and you haven't spoken to anyone since the delivery driver.
We can't change the sunset. We can change the view.
Plants, people and a kettle
The Mission Hall has stood on Iffley Road since the 1880s. Today there are more than 200 plants under the old roof trusses, a propagation wall where every new member adds a cutting, and tea and coffee on us all day.
There are people too. Someone to nod at by the kettle, someone to ask about a spreadsheet, the odd dog asleep on the round sofa. On a grey Tuesday that counts for a lot.
Get out while it's light
The trick in winter is to catch the daylight while it lasts. Ravenscourt Park is a short walk away, so a lunchtime loop is easy to fit in before the afternoon closes in.
Getting here is simple too. Goldhawk Road station is about a 10 minute walk and Ravenscourt Park station about 12. If you cycle, there is lockable bike storage and a shower for when the weather wins.
Try it for a day
A Day Pass is £25 + VAT and gets you any free desk in the Hall from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Bring your laptop, bring your dog, stay all day.
If you like it, there is a little extra in it for you. Join a desk membership in December after your Day Pass and we'll take the £25 off your first month. And if you'd like a desk of your own, Dedicated Desks are 5% off for your first three months when you join in November.
Book a Day Pass, or come for a viewing. We'll put the kettle on.
