Four signals it is time

If two or more of these are true most weeks, a private office will pay for itself in recovered time.

  • You book meeting rooms just to have a normal conversation
  • Sensitive calls happen in stairwells
  • New starters have nowhere consistent to sit
  • Whiteboards, samples or kit have nowhere to live

What to check before you sign

Ask what is genuinely included: internet, cleaning, utilities, meeting room access, furniture and reception. An all-inclusive arrangement is easier to budget and far easier to leave.

Then ask about flexibility. Teams of two to eight rarely stay the same size for a year, so the ability to grow inside the same building matters more than the initial square footage.

Keep the upside of coworking

The best outcome is a room of your own inside a wider community. Your team has a door to close, and still eats lunch alongside other founders, freelancers and creatives.

Missionworks offers private offices for two to eight people inside a Grade II-listed Mission Hall, with shared lounges, a kitchen and four meeting rooms on hand.
